Overview
ProtoLocale is a macOS application developed by David E. Thomas. This privacy policy describes how ProtoLocale handles your data. The short version is simple: ProtoLocale does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device.

Data We Do Not Collect
ProtoLocale does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:
- Personal information of any kind
- Usage data or analytics
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Device identifiers
- Location data
- The contents of any files you open in the app
File Access
ProtoLocale accesses .xcloc localization packages that you explicitly select using the system file picker. The app reads and writes only the files you choose. No file content is transmitted to any server or external service.
File access is governed by macOS App Sandbox rules. ProtoLocale requests read and write access only to the specific files and folders you select.
Translation Processing
All translation processing in ProtoLocale is performed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Translation framework. Your localization content is never sent to a remote server, third-party translation API, or any external service. No internet connection is required to translate content.
Third-Party Services
ProtoLocale does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. No third-party SDKs that collect user data are included in the application.

This support website is a static site. It does not use cookies, tracking scripts, or analytics services. No personal data is collected when you visit this site.
If you contact us by email, your message and email address will be used only to respond to your inquiry and will not be shared with any third party.
Children's Privacy
ProtoLocale is a developer tool intended for use by software developers. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
